Travel

By Car or Train:

From Manhattan, Rhinebeck is about a two-hour drive north up the Hudson River.  You can also take the AMTRAK train from Manhattan's Penn station on 32nd st to the Rhinecliff train station.  It's about an 1:45 trip and a beautiful and comfortable train ride that we highly recommend.  Here's the Friday, Aug 29th schedule.  You can reserve and take a taxi from the station to either hotel.  If you're staying at the Beekman Arms or the Belvedere, we'll have shuttles for Sat, the Wedding night, but not the rest of the weekend, so you might want to rent a car to be able to get around.  These are the recommended car rentals companies:

  • Enterprise: 845 876-1101,
  • Rent a Wreck: 845 758-2277,
  • Priceless Rentals: 845 758-9280

Of course, if you want to come straight from the airport and avoid NYC altogether, we'd recommend renting a car at the airport.

You're most likely to find a convenient flight going into NYC (LaGuardia or JFK), but you might also want to check out more local airports that might be easier for you if you can find a flight that works.  There are airports in Albany (one hour away), Westchester (1.5 hours), and another small one near Poughkeepsie (20 minutes).  Cars can easily be rented at these airports if you book in advance.

It's pretty important to have a car up in Rhinebeck so please either: (a) bring your own car, (b) rent a car, (c) buddy-up with someone who has a car, or (d) bring some books to read since you won't be doing anything besides the wedding events.
